Court Questions Criminal Acquittal of Elmbrook Board Member Preetha Kurudiyara
Recent court updates also note her lack of updated financial disclosure or a work search.
Elmbrook Board Member Preetha Kurudiyara continues to raise questions.
In her ongoing divorce case, the court commissioner’s public notes reflect that he questioned her acquittal and an attorney stated that it may matter given [the vocational rehabilitation counselor]’s testimony. Given these notes, questions could be raised about the conclusion of Preetha’s vocational assessment.
In addition, an attorney noted that Preetha has not filed an updated financial disclosure or a work search.
This documentation by the court is for same individual who is currently the Clerk for Elmbrook and was formerly the Treasurer of its ~$139M budget.
What Example is Being Set?
One week after she was acquitted in her felony trial for substantial battery, where her seemingly unstable and abusive behavior was revealed in official testimony, Preetha put on a tiara and attended an Elmbrook Education Foundation event in November 2024.
Preetha is also featured in many Brookfield Central PTO public photos.

Additionally, she attended an event at Brookfield Elementary in April 2025.
Despite deeply concerning court testimony, court-ordered time away from her family, a hit and run charge, questionable statements during her campaign, holding herself out as a pediatrician and calling her name being mispronounced "disrespectful and reprehensible", she is still permitted to be in Elmbrook schools and near Elmbrook students. Additionally, as a board member she votes on matters that affect Elmbrook’s entire student and staff population.
What example is being set for students, staff and the entire community?
